Joslin Larson, MS, LPCA
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) practicing equine-assisted psychotherapy and offering equine-assisted learning for both adults and children at my horse ranch in Redmond, Oregon. As an attachment-based therapist, I specialize in treating trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, ADHD, and helping clients navigate challenging life circumstances. My passion for counseling and my connection with horses are deeply intertwined, as I believe that attunement and awareness are essential in building meaningful relationships. When I incorporate horses into the therapeutic process, I find that this unique dynamic creates the foundation for profound healing and change. I strive to support my clients in the moment while also considering the bigger picture, helping them work toward their unique goals, needs, and perspectives. The delicate balance between horse and human interactions offers rich opportunities for hope, healing, and personal growth, and I am committed to fostering the relationships we build with ourselves, with horses, and with others.
It all began with a love of horses...
And a dream to facilitate harmonious relationships between humans and horses in an environment that fosters growth, healing, and recovery.
My passion for both counseling and horses is deeply interconnected. The joy and fulfillment I receive from supporting and caring for humans and horses is reflected in the living, thriving environment I have created for both on my 10-acre property in central Oregon. This space is designed with areas for client observation, engagement, and reflection, and allows for horses to have natural movement, free access to hay, and herd living. These elements come together to foster insight, awareness, and healing.
In therapy, I believe the nature of relationships requires attunement and awareness, and when horses are part of the process, this becomes the foundation for transformative change. I strive to meet clients where they are in the moment, while also considering their broader goals, needs, and perspectives. The delicate interaction between horse and human offers rich opportunities for hope, healing, and personal growth, and I am committed to nurturing the relationships we build with ourselves, with horses, and with others.
